Practical advice for achieving a work/life balance

Organize your schedule: Write in a small list 3-5 things you need to do the next day based on your priorities.

Try to make a more general schedule that will include your goals and activities for the next week. Do not just focus on how to "fit" everything in the next 24 hours.

Proper time management: Being focused on an activity helps us mainly to save energy. The distractions are costly.

Leave work at your workplace: Given that through technology we have access to issues related to our work at any time (eg checking emails, a project, etc.), try to make a conscious decision to separate them, leaving thoughts and issues related to your work in your workplace.

Remember that you have the choice to say no: Remember that it is okay to deny something but always in a polite way. By stopping to perform duties because of guilt or an apparent sense of commitment, you will save time for other things that are most important to you.

Avoid dealing with many different things at the same time (multi-tasking): When in a phone conversation or in a face-to-face conversation, focus on the other person and the conversation. Multiple execution is a counter-productive time management technique, especially when you interact with people.

Look at your watch: If you are doing something that you can get absorbed in and spend more time than you want (for example, on social networks, email or searching the internet), place your watch on the desk, noting what time you started and how long you plan to spend there.

Take breaks: Take short breaks when you need them during the day to fill your batteries and recover your concentration.

Physical, spiritual and emotional culture: It is very important to exercise both physical and mental and emotional well-being. By reading a book, learning something new, spending three hours a week on physical activity and taking care of our emotional world, we gain strength and skills to better respond to every difficult and pressing schedule.
