One looks at the water and sees mud, the other the reflection of the stars.
Awe is the feeling that possesses us when we face something much bigger and significant than ourselves and often goes beyond our cognitive level. For example, when we see some great architectural construction, when we witness a natural phenomenon of rare beauty or when we witness the birth of a child... The feeling of awe has the same powerful effect to our happiness. However, in contrast to all other positive emotions, it is the only one that does not make us smile or laugh. Let's look at 3 ways to incorporate a sense of awe into our everyday lives:
- Walk in nature as often as you can: take a walk and observe the environment, the sounds, the objects, the people and the colors you encounter. Observe the treasures of nature; you will feel awe looking at the clouds floating away.
- Get the most out of your trips: when you find yourself in a new holiday spot, try to wake up early in the morning and live your day to the fullest, enjoying the sunset, observing the people, the sights, the beauty of nature, the new tastes and everything else around you.
- Get out of your comfort zone at least once a day: you do not have to go on vacation to experience feelings of awe. You just need to observe beauty in your everyday life. This will be easier if you make sure you do something different every day, such as a night stroll, a concert, hiking and gazing at the city from the top of a hill, watching your favorite sport -whatever else pleases you, as long as it's not something you do every day!
