The barriers to enjoyment

Open the door to enjoyment. Enjoyment barriers refer to strategies we use to put obstacles in the positive feelings which arise when something good happens to us.

Positive emotion suppression: by suppressing or concealing positive feelings because of shame, modesty, fear, humility etc.

Dissociation from the positive event: by being unable to concentrate on it, because of other thoughts and concerns, or through deliberately ignore to recognize the "problem" that calls for a solution.

Nagging: constantly engaging in negative events, focusing on them, discussing them in a pessimistic tone.

Negativity: either by always expecting the worst of a situation or by downgrading anything positive that has happened, saying it was random, temporary, etc.
